My Chinita

New web site coming soon. My chinita is now in the process of getting Lily a sister. Paperwork has been submitted to China. Now we wait, as we all do for adopting those from China.

Alliance for Children Family Picnic was held Sunday, November 13, 2005 at Fuchs Park in South Miami. We got to met Rob, who works for Alliance for Children the adoption agency we used. He is opening an office here in South Florida. Many families came out to the picnic. Some of those who have adopted from abroad and others in the process of adopting. Let's not forget Barbara who did our home study was there. Here are some pictures from our wonderful day.

Halloween, October 31, 2005. Lily was dressed as a black cat. She was very cute. It was lightly raining, so we visited the mall for trick or treats. See the pictures below.

Lily's first Walt Disney World trip took place on October 7-9, 2005. Lily had a wonderful time, including taking pictures with all the Disney characters. We plan on visiting again in late December during the Christmas holidays. We look forward going doing those magical days.

June 8, 2005 Lily's First birthday. First update since April 8, 2005. We are enjoying Lily very much. She can now stand on her own. Walking just days away. Will update the web page as time permits. Lily misses all her adopted buddies.

April 16, 2005. We have arrived home. See the picture of all those who were waiting for us at the airport at 6:00am in the morning.

April 15, 2005. The day we visit the US Consulate to swear in under oath that the information you provided to the US Consulate is accurate and to the best of our knowledge. We did this in the morning. In the afternoon we received the paperwork to bring them in. We received the babies passport with the US Visa. This is also the day we leave to go home. Packing was done after we visited the US Consulate. Our flight is to leave at 9:00pm China time to arrive in Los Angles at 6:45pm Pacific time. We had to check out of our hotel at 1:00pm and we would leave at 5:30pm to go to the airport. This left time to take the famous red sofa picture with all the babies in the White Swan Hotel. Some shopping time was left to visit the local shops and those located in the hotel. We had our last meal at Lucy's Restaurant because it was close by and they had hamburgers and quesadillas. Our chinita is coming home. We are to arrive on Saturday at 6:12am in Fort Lauderdale. It is going to be a very hard trip for the babies. It is a 14 hour flight from Guangzhou, China to Los Angles. Then the flight from Los Angles to Fort Lauderdale is 5 1/2 hours. We have a 4 our delay in Los Angles to go through customs.

April 14, 2005. Shop, Shop, Shop till we drop. That's what we did this day. The temperature was great even though it was a foggy day. We walked Shamian Island were they have many small shops dedicated to those who adopt children in china. The sell clothing for children, shoes, jewelry, and Chinese outfits. You know we brought some. Today we have to wait to have some paperwork returned to us. In the evening we left if to have our last dinner with all the families. We ate our dinner in a Thai restaurant located on the island. It was good, but we are all very tired. We ate dinner and left. We decided to print out our family picture in a 12X10 size to hand to all the families. This was our gift to take home to show the hole group. They were all surprised that the Suzie, Luis, Marie and David had paid for this picture.

April 13, 2005. China trip coming to a close soon. Today was a gran day for us all. We moved to different hotel, The White Swan Hotel located 5 blocks from the Victory Hotel. Beds are better at victory but White Swan Hotel is larger and is the hotel where the families who adopt stay waiting US Consulate approval. Today we took picture of babies for Visa. Also went to have medical checkup. Everything ok, both Lily and Lia both have colds. I (David) also have a cold (Airborne not affective and don't have enough). The babies were tired, Luis and I picked up lunch at Lucy's Restaurant, they have western food. We did some shopping but not much. It is cold and rainy, babies are not up for getting sicker. Plan on eating this evening in hotel. Tomorrow paperwork in day, Hard Rock Cafe with the group in the evening. We leave Friday 9:00pm which is 9:00am Friday in Florida. We arrive in Florida on Saturday 6:45am (time change). Keep up the emails, getting funny ones. Will try to send some this evening.

April 12, 2005. Our day started with breakfast (same old) and head out to Guangzhou, China. We arrived at our hotel after 3pm. The babies were all starving and sleepy. We also had to check in to our hotel at Guangdong Victory Hotel. It is located in Shamian Island where we will have to do medical exams, Visa photos and visit US Consulate. Tomorrow we will check out and move over to the White Swan Hotel located 5 blocks down. This is the hotel where those who adopt stay. They were booked tonight, that is why we are at the Victory Hotel. This hotel is nice, I have posted picture of room as well as some other pictures we took today. We ate at an Italian restaurant which was our best meal in China so far. The restaurant was located far, I guess we were the only ones who decided to adventure out of the island. There are many shops Marie and Susy plan to spend hard earned money, oh well. Guangzhou is a whole lot better than Nanning. Nanning is a small city, while Guangzhou is much larger. We found Starbucks but were too full after dinner maybe tomorrow. More to come...Click here for the pics.

April 11, 2005. Today we went to see Mother Love Orphanage. This orphanage is located within a few minutes from outside of Nanning. It is not the orphanage Lily or Lia came from but one of the other girls in our group did. We were amazed how clean and how well the children are taken care of. They had triplets who are going to be adopted by a family in three months. It was slightly chilly today and very overcast. We returned at midday to do some last minute paperwork and pack our luggage to head out to Guangzhou, China in the morning. I had no time to add new pictures today, I will try tomorrow, even though it's a long day of travel to airport and one hour flight with babies. Days are getting closer to coming home. Can wait to eat some home cooking, we are all home sick. Check back tomorrow for more....

April 10, 2005. What a difference a day makes. Temp was now high 77F low in the upper 60's. We went to the zoo. What a zoo, makes Metro Zoo look bad. Lots of trees and we saw a seal and dolphin show. We are still home sick with the food so Luis and I went to McDonalds and the babies took there daily nap. Lily is becoming a good eater but always wants to eat. Lia smiles easily. She is also a great eater. We are waiting for 6pm to have a group dinner with all the families in the hotel restaurant. We read all the emails but have trouble responding. Email it gets to us with no trouble but when we email back they block it thinking it is spam (IP address is China). Using Yahoo is very slow. Chinese websites come up quick, United States web sites very slow. Don't worry we have read all the emails, just can't easily respond. More to come....

April 9, 2005. It was a very hot day today. Temp were 93F felt like 100. We went to the museum which had no ac so we had a very hot day. We are all missing home. Food here can be really tough. Food is exotic and we all don't eat this stuff. We craved Pizza Hut and McDonalds. I have included some of those pics for you to see. Our day tommorrow is to go to the zoo. Not sure if were all up to it. We see what the temps will be. By the way, today we received the babies passport and paperwork. We are now waiting for tuesday to travel to Guangzhou. Were are told better shopping there. We are in rual China and shopping or going to the park are some of the only things to do here. Well got to go to bed for the next day. We miss everyone. April 8, 2005. Last night we all went in a group to a near by thai restaurant which had Philipino dancers and singers, singing american songs. Click here for the video clip. We went to People's Park this morning. The park is located walking distance behind hotel. We took some video of children in a field trip. Coral Park Elementary will like this video. Click here for the video. The funny part of the day was with Lily. Lily was constipated but when she pooped, oh boy it was like a cuban cigar. Not the right color but right shape. Oh well, time for the feeding. Suzy and Luis having a ball with Lia who loves the walker. Lily on the other had just sits in the walker. More to come. Click here for the pics.

April 7, 2005. Afternoon update 2pm here, 2am in Florida. Just came back from Green Hill park and budda temple. Had lunch in room, Lily and Lia are getting their sleep time. Going to Thai restaurant this evening. Just added some new videos check them out below:

April 7, 2005. I was able to add one short video of when we picked up Lily on the first day. I need to add video of both Lily and Lia. Internet here is very very slow and video is large, takes long time to upload. Trying to work on getting more video. On the mean time check out the short clip of Lily's meeting day. April 6, 2005. We went to Lake Side Park in Nanning, China today also visted the Walmart Supercenter. We went shopping to local department store. We are now back at hotel calling it a night. Check out the pictures. Click here for the daily pics.

April 4, 2005. WE HAVE OUR BABIES. Lily and Lia have arrived. It was a long day for them. We all had butterflies in our stomachs. We took a short trip to a goverment building to receive our babies. It was very emotional for all those families. We have added some pictures from today. Sorry about video, I will try to get some asap (internet is very slow here). Click here for pics

April 3, 2005. We have finally arrived in Nanning, China. We arrived at 11:00am Sunday, which is 10:00pm Saturday night in Miami. We are at our hotel and had lunch at a near by restaurant. Hope to take pictures and post on the web. We are exhausted from the long trip. We receive the baby on Monday at 5:00pm which is 5:00am Monday in Miami. Check back on Monday for pictures and video. March 30, 2005 We are on our way to China. We leave Friday, April 1, 2005 and arrive Sunday, April 3, 2005. Check back soon for pictures and video about the trip!

We are so excited! We will be in china for 15 days.
